The Futurity Partnership Edinburgh Capitals are pleased to announce the signing of Canadian centre Mark Wires. Last season Wires was an All-Star in the Central Hockey League. He was the leading scorer on the Rocky Mountain Rage and was team mates with current Capital Adam Stefishen.
Doug Christiansen commented, "In bringing in Mark, we have added speed and skill to our line-up. He is a true centre, something that we need. He was not only the leading scorer on his team last year but he had 50 points and the next closest player had 37.
After the departure of Jeff State, we wanted to bring in an impact player. We were looking for a centre or a D-man. The market place dictated that we bring in a centre. I had recruited Mark during the summer and was thrilled that he had become available. I am happy that the timing worked out because I know that other teams in the Elite League were looking to sign him as well. Mark is a quality person and someone who will help us immediately. He is a player whose best attributes are speed and his will to succeed. His motor does not stop."
Mark will be in the Masters of Business program at Heriot Watt University.
Mark will be meeting the team in Cardiff for the game Wednesday November 21st.
