Yesterday I was busy playing EA Sports NHL 06 and a got called for a penalty.
The other side pulled their NM and the puck went into their goal.
I am not sure if it was hit in by one of their players if if it hit my skate first.
Should this have been a goal or not?
The game allowed the goal and the other team got a powerplay from it which I scored shorthand on.
The last bit isnt relevant but I was just showing off.

lol well thats interesting as i've never experienced it on the 06 version. if the goal was allowed then surely it should stand but maybe ask on the NHL forums. can't remember the address but never mind. interesting though  |

If you touched it, then it is no goal.........but from what you have said i think the game believes that you did not touch it so therefore congrats on the empty net goal.
I scored one too the other day, but basically what i did was just harrass the defenceman and i checked him just in front of his net and the puck went in.
By the way, i am the King when it comes to breakaways and penalty shots.........i don't think i've ever missed!!

I am the king of one timers and dekes.
I dont think I have had many games go to penalty shots.
I have also had 99 hits in a game, is this the maximum or can you get into triple figures.
I will soon be wrapping up my first year Stanley and then I might flick it up to medium for a full season, depending on what signings I can make.
I need a good left wing as Yzerman is playing there at the moment.

nope, i have been into the hundred, not by much though, think it was 106. proud of that i think if you figure it out, to score an easy goal, get your winger crashing the side of the net just of the post and square it to the centerman or the other winger coming in and one timer, this is just easy when you figure it out, i win on difficult by using this method sometimes by 2/3 goals. if you crack it just keep doing it you score 99% of the time. just giving my advice to other gamers |

That is generally how I score most of the time but I do like deking like crazy on a breakaway and then aiming once the NM has made his move.
I did get a 20-0 shut out the other day which was nice.
Which team do you use?

On easy i have actually had a 33-0 result, that was 5 minute periods too.
The team i always use is the New York Islanders.

I only play 5 minute periods but I feel a grand NHL show down coming.
Can you hook this game upto the web?

Dunno about hooking it up to the web because i ain't too technically minded!!
I try not to make too many trades because i like to keep the team as close to the real thing as i can, but i can't always avoid it. I've also noticed that Wade Belak hardly ever loses a face off if you put him in at centre!!

Oilers now have:
Yzerman
Iginla
Sykora
Boynton
D Chambers (excellent rookie centre)
L Chambers (excellent rookie NM)
i have made some other trades but those are the biggest, trading is part of the game and I like the way the salaries hurt you to stop you putting all 99 rated players in.

I'm not fussed...although since I haven't been on the forum in a good few days I'm surprised you thought it was me...  As for guaranteed scoring... if you bomb down either wing and then fire it across to the centre up the middle and one-time it, then nine out of ten times it goes high and in... |
