Read it again. It contains: Racers management have become gravely concerned about these matters and are reviewing their position in consultation with insurers and investors.e.g. this may not be just a simple fix. It may be a case of: You are not insured to play with the current safety barriers.
To replace the barriers will cost a lot of money. The council do not like the Racers. The site is in Olympic land. Not too many fans. Low down in the league. Guilford running away with....... Hmmm and Oh Dear

If so that sucks, we are never going to get hockey to take off if teams keep folding.

But they must be capable of competing in safe environments. If they don't fold is it possible they might move? Possibly to a rink in Surrey

I've heard the Racers may be folding on Monday. looks fairly certain at the moment, bad news really, people on the elite forum are already saying that theres 8 teams left in the league, who will replace london if any, what happens to the points that the games against london (will they stand or get deducted). looks like its going to happen and none of the teams in the EPL will probably have the financial stability to step up, but if they did, maybe bracknell (positive thinking)

Daily Telegraph Sports round-up (Filed: 21/11/2005)
London Racers have quit the Elite League with immediate effect due to serious safety concerns over the Lee Valley rink, which has been their home for two years. The Racers say they cannot continue playing at the venue and have nowhere else to go.
Nottingham Panthers player Blaz Emersic suffered a bad facial injury during a match at the rink two weeks ago after colliding with an advertising hoarding protruding from the barriers, and a Racers game was halted last Sunday after a shot shattered the Plexiglass surrounds to the ice.
Racers owner Roger Black said: "We have exhausted the possibilities. We have played at Alexander Palace and Lee Valley and there is nowhere else in London. Money is not the issue; we simply have nowhere to play."
