this isn't a bash at the refs as it is a very difficult job, but is just a suggestion,
does anyone else agree that we should take the NHL path, and have 2 stripeys on the ice as well as the 2 linesman/woman. hopefully then they will start to get things right and not miss anything, there would be more control over the game and maybe incidents over the last few weeks will not occur.

Interesting question.
Maybe the governing body should experiment with it in say next years Challenge Cup to see what merits it has

I would agree with experimentation. The NHL were brave enough to try it out in the biggest league in the world, so the powers at be in this country should be willing to try changes that they think will improve the game.

Have we got enough "top notch" referee's to be able to afford to assign 2 to each game??

No not at the moment and also until they develop a consistancy to the way games are reffed then there is no point even considering a 2 ref system. Develop the consistancy in which games are reffed 1st then possibly look a developing a 2 ref system. |

The elite league has only named 6 refs this year for the elite league
