From Blaze website:
The Coventry Blaze Junior Ice Hockey system is pleased to announce that current Head Coach of the Great Britain Women's National Team, Reggie Wilcox has agreed to join the club as Head Coach - Hockey Development.
Reg will be working in partnership with Andy Henry, Head of Hockey Operations at Coventry, to develop and implement strategies to improve all 'on-ice' aspects of the club. With Andy he will work directly with the existing coaches and players to ensure that the rapid progress the club has made over the last four years continues as the club sets itself even higher standards.
One of a relatively small number of Level Three coaches in the UK, Reg brings enormous experience to his role at Coventry. In addition to his current position as Head Coach of Great Britain Women's National Team he is Coach Educator with the EIHA National Coaching Programme, and has won numerous competitions as Head Coach of Midlands conference teams and as a club coach. He has previously coached a number of teams including junior sides in Solihull and Nottingham.
Andy Henry said "I've known Reg for years and I think he is a great coach with a wealth of experience at all levels of junior hockey and I'm looking forward to working with him on improving and developing the club."
Reg added: "This is a great opportunity for me to become involved in one of the most progressive clubs in the country. I am looking forward to working with Andy and the coaches to keep the Junior Blaze moving forward."
CBJIHC runs nine teams from Under 10s through all age ranges to Under 19 level. They have two teams at each age group except Under 10s. Two teams, U12's Blaze and U16's Blaze won their divisions last year gaining promotion to Division One (North).
Club Chairman David Martin said: "Our aim is to be the best junior club in the country both on and off the ice, I believe Reg's appointment will prove to be a major step in achieving that goal."
The club are currently looking for organisations to sponsor teams for the coming season which starts at the end of August, if you are interested in supporting the young British players of tomorrow please contact Chairman David Martin on 07932 664640.
