After a press conference friday:

The Vipers today agreed a two-year sponsorship deal with computer component distribution company Mobilx.

The deal is the most significant the Arena-based franchise has ever signed and the team will be known as the Mobilx Newcastle Vipers.

Chairman Paddy O'Connor said: "The board are very pleased with this deal. Securing a title sponsor has always been a major priority from a business standpoint."

Mobilx managing director Steven Bell said: "We were looking for an opportunity to increase our company profile and this seemed to be a natural fit from our first meeting."

This should bring more stability to them.
