Apparently Belfast aint playing in the Challenge Cup next season because they don't want to much fixture conjestion. Don't know how much truth is in that but it sounds a bit silly to me considering:

1.) Blaze are playing in Europe next season but as far as I know they have no plans to not play in any competition.
2.) All Challenge Cup games count towards the league anyway until the knockout stages. So Belfast would have to play 4 extra games (at most) by playing in the Challenge Cup.

Sounds strange.

I thought the Challenge Cup was compulsory as part of the Elite League. And in any case not playing would mean other teams get more match action than they would which would surely harm their preparations

This year the Challenge Cup games are seperate to the league games and the points don't count to the league. Also season tickets dont count for the games.

I've been wondering, will there be a chance to meet the new Blaze team in the Lower Precinct at the start of the new season like last year?

there was last season so i would of thought so. great it will be good to see them all.
