The two semis today were entertaining matches which saw MK Lightning strike out the Slough Jets 2-1, whilst Peterborough Phantoms spooked Romford Raiders by 4-3 in an emotional game. The Raiders (Romford) fans in block 4 were noisy & lively from the off and in party mode. First time the words "Noisy" and "Block 4" have appeared in the same sentence. The penalty music was awful though  Saw at first hand the bitter rivalry between Romford and Chelmsford Chieftans which makes the Squealers/Panties one look like a lovers tiff ;D These two sets of fans seem to hate the other with abandon. Tomorrows Bronze match and final should be good entertainment too. Oh...and I got to wear the yellow Security jacket all day too ;D |

Ha! Sorry, but I have actually fallen off my chair laughing at that one...after all, they've only been the Phantoms for, what... Oh, that's right. THREE WHOLE SEASONS! And they say Blaze fans don't know anything about hockey...Jeeeee-sus wept....  Anyway, back to the weekend. EPL hockey was, contrary to the expectation of 'fast rec-hockey' surprisingly intense, at least on the Sunday. One can see the class of MK and Peterbrough compared to the rest of the league, though-the final was by far the best game of the weekend-and I now have another reason to hate Peterborough's James Morgan after he nearly took my head off with a swinging stick (nearly? damn, I hear you cry-just thought I'd get that out of t'way as well ) after being wound up on the bench by MK's Michael Wales while I was stood behind it...provoking a near-bench brawl... |

didn't we play the phantom's this season as well??
What was the final results and stuff... I wanted to go but alas lack of funds(shuldn't be a problem in the near future... damn the season being over!)..

I wanted to go but alas lack of funds(shuldn't be a problem in the near future... damn the season being over!).. We drew 7 all in a challenge game. It was pure value for money (OK I didn't have to pay ;D) but even the bronze game was keenly fought...literally. The first fight occurred in the first second between Williams (Raiders) & Pinnington (Jets). Apparently the seeds of this had somethig to do with a certain Kurt Irvine the previous night in the Orange House. Anyway the fight was a good slug out which whicj Pinnington called for the stripeys to intervene left himself wide open to a thunderous right from Williams. After the final buzzer in which Raiders came back from 3-1 down to win 6-3 Adam Dobson skated down the ice arms outstretched in a pre-arranged sciffle with the very impressive netminder from Romford- Moffat. Completely on sided with Moffat the easy victor One sided also sums up the final where MKL played a superb game and ghosted through the Phantoms at will. Wales & the ugliest player ever (Trademark) Morgan had a dance at the end with the Phantom scoring the only cheer from the easterly fans all night. Wales ahould have heeded the sage advice "Never fight an ugly person as they've nothing to lose".......unless your name's Moffat obviously ;D Hope they do it all again next year only with Chelmsford and romford both getting through to contest a battle of the burberry  |
