Tonight was the first attempt at the new 12 days of Christmas song for the new Blaze team. Here's what the people in block 2 came up with as a quick effort:
FIVE: Payyyyyettes Four: Jody Lehmans Three: Dougie Schullers Two: Neal Martins (First) AND A 'TITLE WIN IN DUNDEE'
Everyone join in and let's try and put together this new chant for us ALL to sing next week.

A better scan might be 5 Mihailiks 4 Jody Lehamns 3 Dougie Schuellers 2. Neal Martins And a legend called Andre Lest we forget the title win was now two seasons ago

Neal Martins And a legend called Andre Lest we forget the title win was now two seasons ago Yeh i was thinking that the title-win could be a little old now. Hmm... "On the first day of Christmas Thommo gave to me, a legend called Andre" What are peoples thoughts, does that go nicely or is a change in order?

OK we now need 6 through to 12. If it's anything like last year the competition for spots will be intense

A possible 12:
12: Poiriers 11: Ashley Taits 10: McNamaras 9: Tommy Watkins 8: Adam Calders 7: Graham Schlenders 6: Russ Cowleys 5: Mihailiks 4: Jody Lehamns 3: Dougie Schuellers 2: Neal Martins And a legend called Andre
Sounds pretty groovy to me, is it time to get learning or does it need a change?

I'm liking this version.
Might need to start it early this year as it took a while for the peeps to learn it last year. I suggest right away.
Well if the shops can start Chrimbo early why can't we? ;D

Unfortunately I won't be at the House of Tin next week (As got freebie for the rugby) but think we should get it printed off and distributed amongst Block 2 for next Sunday and then hit the coach fans with it on the trip to the Land of the Pink Buses (See other thread ;D) to spread the word. Last year we found persistence to be the key as it is difficult to get the whole lot done in one go, so 2 or 3 times per game is about right.
Incidentally last years version had its debut at the cow shed of Basingstoke as well

Good idea about printing of a load of sheets, can anyone get that done, my printers broken?

I'm not sure i'm qualified to comment on this as i'm quite un-inventive but shouldn't number 1 be "A blaze legend called Andre" which has the right amount of syllables in? Or am I just being dumb? Other than that I think its great and I think the guys in block 2 do a wonderful job and matchnights wouldnt be the same without them. Neal Martin appreciated his song during the presentations as he told me later that evening. Keep up the good work

;D Nice one Sally, brought a smile to my face. Agree on the last line too. Liking the song so far, but may I offer my tweaks:
12 - Poiriers and 11 - Ashley Taits and 6 - Russ Cowleys don't scan. We could change Russ to Russell.... easy.
We could make Joel two syllables....
as for Ashley, could he lose his place to the more-scannable Michal Vrabel?
Is it too early to start wearing our Santa hats? ;D

Keep up the good work Not being dumb at all. Sorry for my shorthand but the song starts On the first day of Christmas Thommo gave to me ...A legend called Andre which does fit a little better. Last years opener for those who've forgotten was ...A title won in Dundee Rich, Santa hats are fine but think the b2p should all get one with flashing lights on

On the first day of Christmas Thommo gave to me ...A legend called Andre which does fit a little better. Have to disagree. The last bit there does indeed lack one syllable, and in fact the Thommo bit doesn't scan... Paul Thompson would scan better.

Why not spread some song sheets out to the other blocks then there is no excuse for not joining in
