Sounds very interesting
I'd have to see it first to provide my full opinion but once people got used to the colours i think it could be a good change.
I don't really have a poblem with how the ice is coloured at the mo though

Todays date oh its March 17th not April 1st.
Um its a bit pointless. If the NHL really want to market the game better, perhaps they should fuifill their fixtures. (Which from what I've heard so far is the club officals fault and not the players fault.)

Ooooo can worms open!
I think there's a hell of a lot more to it than that and personally while i think both sides are to blame, the NHLPA (the players assocation) should shoulder most of the blame...

Incidentally "Blue Ice" is an aeronaughtical term for the frozen effluence collected on flights. Quite often they are just dumped out and have on occasion caused damage

Indeed it is a whole can or worms.
But does anyone really think that blue ice is going to make a difference? If so I would be amazed.
You can imagine the uproar if this had happened in England with football, and then the Premier League decided to ask Blackburn if they wanted to use blue grass. (BTW shades of Blue grass DO exist believe it or not.)
As for whose fault it is, did these players have contracts for this money?
Why should anyone accept a maximum wage limit imposed by a body?
I wouldn't be pleased if someone told me that in future, and before anyone says "they earn more than enough anyway" if I was an ice hockey player in the NHL, I would want to be paid accordingly. Especially as none of the players held a gun to the head of any club owners for the wages to be so high in the first place.
But anyway at least the players in the NHL, are finding something to do with their time. Perhaps thats the reason for this silly story, they have to keep public interest high, as they know they have upset a lot of fans. "Hey we've canceled the season, but when we come back we will have blue ice."
There really are better things for them to concentrate on than this.

shades of Blue grass DO exist believe it or not.) Its a kinda music if i'm not mistaken ;D or is that not what you meant? The only difference I can see it making a few high scoring games to start with while the netminder can't see the puck properly. possibly so they can say 'wow look how much better the league is now, theres lots of goals, come and watch again'
