It's been confirmed in today's Coventry Evening Telegraph that the Newcastle Vipers will play in next year's Elite League. Ex-Blaze player Paddy O' Connor had a lot to do with it, but I can't remember what he's done.
There was a bit about what will become of the BNL now, and that we should expect them to bring in the likes of Peterborough and MK, should they still have a rink.
With the addition of Manchester and one other BNL team, that'll give us a solid 10-team league.

I'm not sure the words solid and Newcastle belong in the same sentence

Newcastle are big enough for the Elite League with the size of the rink and all that but our they stable enough? I hope so.

The Jesters had a big enough rink but fell foul financially in the top flight (Much like the Cobras, Riverkings etc did before them) hence their entry into the BNL. Never financially stable they went close to liquidation on several occasions until their creditors this year plunged the company Newcastle KBS Vipers Limited into creditors liquidation. Fortunately the brand name has been purchased by auxilliary parties to that whch suffered previously, but with that history it does make you wonder whether they would be better off playing out of somewhere the size of say Whitley Bay
