There is a massive rumour going round THF at the moment that the Vipers are going to announce Tie Domi from the Toronto Maple Leafs as there NEW NHL-signing. The Vipers are to announce the NHL signing tommorow afternoon, but the only name popping up is Tie.
Here's the press release:
Time will tell i guess! If it is Tie, is this a good thing or a bad thing for the Vipers?

I really can't see it happening, Vipers are in the red financially, so unless he is coming over and not getting paid, this is highly unlikely
But answering your question: I think this would be good for the Vipers and would certainly attract the Crowds.

maybe because we dont really need another forward and it would just mean a player being cut and the we are running the risk of that if the NHL does have a half season then we would once again have to find another player to fill his place. A risk not needed to be taken. But if he just happened to WANTED to play in the uk with us i cant see any problems ......

If Andre were to jump ship soon we would need another forward

I say if the Blaze can grab Domi they should do it. He is a solid 3rd liner for the Leafs who could put up better numbers if he got the ice time. He is also pretty good when it's time to drop the gloves. I wouldn't worry about losing the NHLers, the lockout isn't going to end. The season is going to be scrapped on the 14th of Jan. I wouldn't be surprised to see the 2005-6 season lost as well.

As a Vipers fan I just wanted to say thank you to all the Coventry fans who have shown support to the Vipers lately by buying tickets for games you can't get to etc. I think that it would only be ice hockey where you would get that kind of support from other clubs. Thanks Blaze fans. Also as you are wondering about the NHLer we are getting some of you may already this but his name is Chris McAllister. He's a D man apparently which we desperately need. Some of you hockey buffs may know more about him than I do. He is being paid for by one of our corporate sponsors so isnt costing the Vipers anything (just in case you wondered where the money is coming from) The sponsors didnt want to put money straight into the club so are helping us out this way. Enjoy the rest of the season hope to see lots of you up at Newcastle nest season (hopefully) and I am sure you will be getting us lotdown there. Happy New Year.

All i know about Mcallister is he ain't afraid to drop the gloves and he is a tough nut. Perhaps not the greatest skill level but no one is going to mess with him in in BNL land.
Best of luck to the vipers at the weekend hope its a good turnout.

McAllister is a big stay at home d man, he will make the vipers crease and slot area an intimidating place to go for the opposition forwards, and will drop the gloves when necessary. He is probably a number 7 d man on most teams in the NHL as he provides little offensively. I would expect him to help the vipers, as they could possibly pair him with Weaver on defence allowing Weaver to jump into the offence more often whilst McAllister covers.

I've got a fight clip of our Wade v Chris McAllister...nothinging fight...few punches but these two used to play on the same defensive lines in their younger days in Saskatoon
If someone can host the clip for me...my email server won't let the size of the file through
The file is about 4mb big
