In case you are not aware Cardiff Devils, their fans and other users are currently involved in a battle with Cardiff council with regards to the Ice Rink. Cardiff council want to demolish the rink to allow for more retail development. Cardiff currently have not been provided any indication of temporary facilities and the proposed new rink at a new sports complex is still many years away. They are fighting this and have set up a petition form at www.petitionthem.com/default.asp?sect=detail&pet=1493 Can people please go and sign this petition, the league would be a worse place without the Devils, and any rink closure is a bad thing. |

Members of the Cardiff Save Our Rink Action Committee met for the second time with Cardiff Council representatives on Tuesday,6th April,2005.
As a result of information obtained at the meeting,the delegates are of the opinion that the future of the Cardiff Devils,junior development and competetive skating in Cardiff is under very serious threat.
In view of this we have decided that THE PROTEST OUTSIDE JOHN LEWIS IN NOTTINGHAM CITY CENTRE AT 1pm ON SUNDAY,10th APRIL GOES AHEAD.
The protest will end in good time to enable fans to return to the NIC for the afternoon match.
All Ice Hockey fans are invited to join our protest against the plans to demolish the Wales National Ice Rink to allow the development of a John Lewis store, BEFORE an adequate replacement rink is available, contrary to promises given by the Council.
IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THE CARDIFF DEVILS PLEASE BE THERE TO SUPPORT OUR FIGHT.IF BIG BUSINESS, SUPPORTED BY THE LOCAL COUNCIL, CAN TRAMPLE OVER ICE HOCKEY FANS IN CARDIFF, NO RINK IN THE COUNTRY IS SAFE. HELP US MAKE AN IMPACT THEY WON'T FORGET.
