New Ice Is Broken As Elite Ice Hockey League Joins NHL Network
New York (Nov. 8, 2004) – The list of affiliates continues to grow as The National Hockey League (NHL) and the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) announced today that the EIHL has become a member of the NHL.com network..
The addition of the EIHL to the network is a watershed event as it represents the first inclusion of an international league site into the Network.. As an affiliate Eliteleague .co.uk will be carried throughout the NHL .com Network being the world’s largest hockey portal containing 46 web partners, including all 30 NHL teams, as well as the majority of minor professional leagues in North America.
“We’re extremely pleased to add an international partner in the Elite Ice Hockey League,” said Keith Ritter, president of NHL Interactive CyberEnterprises (NHL ICE). “This demonstrates that hockey is a global game, it continues to grow throughout the world and the Internet is the perfect way to bring it all together.
