Here's a match report i found on the Steelers forum from the Racers v NHL Select team:
******
Sounded like a great game, not a bad result for the Racers either-i was expecting a few more goals in favour of the NHL guys! Well done Racers-the team to reckon with.

Went down to Lea Valley for the game last night.
Queue to the end of the car park!, the face off had to be delayed. I reckon the attendance was around the 1,100-1,200 mark.
Apparently there was some showboating from the NHL Select at Sheffield the previous evening, not tonight. The Racers game the Select team a very competative game, and only 2 goals in the last half of the 3rd Period when the Racers were tiring killed the game.
Highlights:
Cotton (who dressed for Panthers last season) scoring a blinder through the 5-hole, assist by Moria.
Robinson rearranging the face of an opponent with 4 beautiful right hands. Maxwell then skating round the ice telling the opposition why his assistant had rearranged their colleagues face!!
McIntyre, very fast, very industrious for the Racers. Only failing was to put the puck away on a couple of occasions, after he done all the hard work. Good performaces also from Smith, Pope, Robinson and Daigle (n/m).
Dissapointments:
Cornish and Tremblay. Cornish something of a lumberer, Tremblay fairly ananoymous.
This was a throughly entertaining evening. Make no mistake this Racers team are not to be taken lightly, I think they will give the other teams a run for their money.
Period Scores: 1-2, 0-0, 0-2
Shots on Goal (est): 28-39
Pims:16-10
MOM: Daigle
Referee: Hick
As an aside, Racers have an impressive group of sponsors. There was about a dozen brand new cars in the car park all done up in the Racers livery.
Congratulations to the DJ on the night. Anybody who plays Led Zep, Thin Lizzy, The Clash, Motorhead, and Quo for an aging old fart like me has got to be a good sort!
Regards
