hay
I have another question. . . . . . .
cause of payettes 2nd fight last night, will he have another match ban? Or was it just for the rest of the vipers game?
Also what sparked off the bench clearance?
I was watching and paying attention, but all I saw was everyone pileing over the side.
Thanks
Blue

I believe Andre only got a Game penalty (i.e. the rest of the game) and not a match penalty (i.e. the next match).
So as far as I know he'll be back on the ice for the next game.
As for the bench clearance, from what I saw it was Gallace who hit Calder, then being the chicken that he is, skated off... prompting Carlson to jump over the wall at him. Gallace had had a tough game, with constant (undeserved) jeering from the Coventry fans right behind his bench, and after he broke his stick he went straight for Calder.

bench clearance...right in front of me...calder seem to take exception to a check gallace made on him when he was coming out of our zone ( gallace had lost his stick and just played the man )...didnt seen the retalitory check but from another close witness it wasnt a good one..i did see the the flash point ...trumbley...as calder passed the vipers bench after the check....he leant forward and smacked him straight to the head...trumbley was off the ice in the corner of the bench on his own at the time...it all kicked off from then....carlson...flew toward the bench and launched himself at trumbley..who was trying to get away from the quickly forming melee....players everywhere..then payette and ferone seemed to skate to centre ice and began scrapping..ferone getting the best of early shots with lots of quick jabs..then andre came back and gave as good as he got..this lasted quite a while and both seemed to be too tried to continue...IMO..draw..maybe slight edge to Payette ( second fight...ferone clear win...dont think andre was really wanting to fight as we we short benched after calders ejection, but couldnt back down )

i saw calder jump over the barrier to get at trumberly , i think thats what got him the game , and then everybody jumped in! trumbaly should have got more than 2 min! i believe that action from a bench to play on the ice is something like 3 matchs bans, one of my team mates got a game for accidentally droping his stick on a player who had fallen over in front of our bench(this while play was still going )

calder checked from behind gallace into the newcastle bench area, after gallace laid a bad hit on him. then trumbley glove-punched from the bench calder. Then carlson sticking up for calder went for trumbley.

I think that the anti-Gallace stuff (Although moderately hostile from the start) really intensified following this incident tha kicked off the fracas. Andre seemed to feed off the crowd baying for blood in his duology with Ferone.
Gallace got off without any penalty didn't he?

Shockingly, yes he did manage to avoid any penalties regarding the big brawl. IMO it was him who kicked it all off.

Yeah I think Gallace should have got a penalty for charging or something.
Agreed with madcat's post.

Gallace didn't really do anything illegal.

covblaze16: Charging is illegal (And he did do that)
He didn't charge illegally he played the body, but it was a legal check after calder had just played the puck. Also the ref see thing's in different perspectives and different ways to ordinary biased fans. Ref's are watching closely the actions of the players.

Sticking up for the stripeys a bit there Davey ;D
Gallace spent most of the match trying sneaky hits on our guys just to flip the bird (metaphorically speaking) to the home crowd

because Gallace didn't do anything illegal. He laid legal hits on our players through the game and niggled a bit, but his hit on calder was not illegal.
