Hey whats ppl's views on the NHL lockout??? There might not even be an NHL next season!!! Basically whats happening is theres may not be an NHL next season... The reason is that they want to lower the salary cap for each team, but the NHLPA wants to keep it the same or higher. So the players are going on a strike.
The current Collective Bargaining Agreement is about to expire on September 15th, 2004. Both the NHLPA (players) and the NHL (owners) are trying to figure out who gets the bigger chunk of $2 billion in revenues.
The owners have propsed six different models all containing a salary cap and the players have refused to have any sort of cap involved.
No CBA=Lockout=No Hockey
