The 21st official Bond film was released this week. I have to say though that the plot doesn't hold up as well as others. It detracts from the usual Bond by numbers format that viewers have come to expect with only the charcter of M (Thereby creating a massive continuity error- See Goldeneye) familiar to fans. Daniel Craig is good in the role despite having massive footsteps to follow after Brosnan. The villians though are massively one dimensional which comes as a huge disappointment. Indeed so lack lustre are all the protagonists that the whole thing feels like one overly long pre title sequence and only the final scene leaves you crying oyt for more. That said with the gaps between the next one to be reduced having waited 4 years for this I am hopeful for a return to better times.

Got too it last night, thought it was pretty decent, although i felt as though there were alot of things that could have been done to make it a much better film, like adding scenes in i.e when le chiffre was doing his little rope trick with Bond, should they have not shown anything what Lynd was doing, as i felt that would have been effective, as audience will know but Bond doesn't, with the bargaining of lives with money thing. As you say Steve, with Daniel Craig following on from Brosnan its some big shoes to fill (around size11/12 ) although i thought he played the role well, and enjoyed the rope part as it added a bit of comedy and a bit more character in Daniel Craig's 'Bond'. Also top marks for the Madagascan back pack man ;D that was a good scene as it shown bond wasn't all that good as he was almost hanging on as the other guy was having fun overall - a generous 8/10 could have been 7 but i thought some of the settings were very tranquil

I think I read somewhere that the stuntman with the back pack in Madagascar is something like the official free running world champion...or something like that. And I always thought Ant & Dec held the record in the opening credits for their Takeaway show Anyway for the next Bond flick I would welcome the return of Moneypenny, Q, gadgets, high speed vehicular chases and proper megalomania OTT villains. A decent feem tune wouldn't go amiss either

agree about the theme tune, really like Audioslave and Chris Cornell, although not as a bond theme.

I noticed on Saturday there was one of those countdown shows which ranked the Bond theme tunes. 2 of Shirley Basseys were top although for me my top 5 theme tunes would be
1. For Your Eyes Only- Sheena Easton 2. The World Is Not Enough- Garbage 3. Licence To Kill- Gladys Knight 4. Live & Let Die- Winds 5. Nobody Does It Better- Carly Simon
