Well first, this is a great movie. Right from the start it has you hooked, and it's one of those films that makes you want to look away, but you just can't.
It's a lot more shocking than the first 2 films.....this just makes you think "Phfft...he cut off his foot....so what?!"
It's a more complicated storyline and has more things going on than the previous 2 films. You learn more about John (Jigsaw), and Amanda. It explains the first 2 films as well, ties off loose ends, which I thought was very good.
The traps. Very original....and mainly very gross. But in a good way. Most of them are "I want to look away but can't" things. They'll make you cringe in your seat!
It is very gory and graphic, but what else would you expect from a Saw film?!
There aren't too many jumpy shocks really. Well, not for me. I could see them coming a mile off, and if you are paying attention and are used to horror films then it should be pretty obvious to you too. Don't let that put you off though, this film didn't really need jumpy bits, it was still great.
The ending is great.....and a big surprise. (Although I didn't think the ending was as good as the previous 2 films endings, thats the only fault with this film I think)
The acting is very good. And the cinematography and camera effects are great. Very fast paced in some parts.
Overall an amazing film that, entertainment-wise, beats the previous 2. Though the 1st of the trilogy is still the best.
Oh and if you are thinking of seeing this film, you MUST see Saw and Saw 2 first....you just won't get Saw 3 without seeing the first 2. It would also make the first 2 less shocking because a) the traps aren't as shocking, and b) it would ruin the end twists.
10 out of 10
