Blaze's new forward-finally!

BLAZE COMPLETE ROSTER WITH BIG CANADIAN
Coventry Blaze coach Paul Thompson has bolstered his roster by signing Canadian winger Chris McNamara.

The 26-year-old registered 10 points in 56 games in the American Hockey League for Lowell Lock Monsters last season and joins former team-mate Dan Carlson at the Skydome.

Thompson said: "The influx of players from the NHL into the AHL has seen the AHL squad sizes increase massively. Players like Chris are looking at the prospect of getting very little ice time this season.

"Normally it would be difficult to get a player of Chris's quality. Don't be fooled by his stats - he has been regularly playing a role at a higher level than we are used to seeing in Coventry.

"Most of our forwards have a little AHL experience, but Chris has been playing more consistently there.

"His arrival will complete our forward lines and I look forward very much to him joining us.

"He is a different type of player to Dan Carlson but his scoring record at senior is fairly similar, and we all have seen what Dan can do."

This guy looks like he could make a fairly big impact-mostly on the opposition d-men with size like that...

He doesn't seem like he uses his size all that much to his advantage, I can't find any records of him droppin the gloves and he doesn't rack up many PIM's.
I think he'll be a good signing though.
