That is a fantastic result, 4 wins out 4 in are Challenge Matches, can't be bad although the only game I actually got to was Milton Keynes.
Just out of interest does anybody know how many fans we took to Sheffield tonight?
It all starts properly on Saturday in Basingstoke, lets just hope we can take our form from our Challenge Matches into the league.

Righteo - a quick summary of last night game.
Sheffield: Went to last nights game expecting quite a hamering, however was very suprised that we only lost by one - and there were enough chances for us to equalise. The brits played fantastic - and you could tell the difference after a year being coached by blazer.
E.G Duncombe and Farrand
Duncombe, could hardly shoot with any power and could not finish his checks at all. After watching him in 3 games (Scimitars Vs Solihull n Nottingham Lions) and last night, he WAS finising those checks, and to great effect, and his shooting has improved ten fold.
Farrand - One of those players who would have gone down, had he been checked by anyone - but learned the trade and manages to stay on his skates and is more than grooming into being a decent D man for the steelers.
Overall, with the rest of our imports to come in, it should be another successful season at the HOS
Coventry: Once again the brits impressed, appologies for forgetting names, but there was a good core of brits who was comfortable playing against the Steelers, and i think will be comfortable playing in the EIHL.
Great to see Jody was back, and enquiring how his prada shoes are ;D ;D ;D but he made some good saves. An idea to make some money for the blaze, is o have a personalised lead for jody - wandering again last night.
Then I come onto the Niekar of the league - Payette. Have to be honest, does not stand out to be a tough guy, more like a goon, and as AJ rightfully said, tried fighting our netminder near the game. Fortunatly for him it was a friendly - as I think doris might have had more than just a polite word in his ear ;D
Have to say, your fans were great last night. i think around 25-30 turned up and had a great laugh. If the bloke who was enjoying the banter about co-op reads the forum, hope you had a safe journey home and see ya on the 23-24th October ;D ;D
Roll on the new season!!!!!!!

We were deffinately suffering from fatigue after playing 2 games in the 3 days before. Making it 3 games in 4 days- that is alot of hockey! Also we were without our two best players- Neil Martin and the NHL forward, who is almost certain to sign!
However, good performance as the steelers had 3 out of 4 import defencemen (Shudra, Darling and Adams) playing and although were under strengthed had not played 2 games over the weekend!

However, the majority of the Steelers team last night, which was made up of the Scimitars team (including both the coach and assistant coaches Neil Abel and Les Millie who are both WELL the wrong side of thirty) had played on both weekend nights v Solihull and Nottingham. Hardly as fresh as daisies I'd say. Oh and we had a 15 year old playing for us too. Watch out for Danny Wood!!
