BLAZE BUILDS ITS BOARD

'High and Mighty' Coventry Blaze are delighted to announce that they have strengthened their off ice team with the appointment of new club officials.
Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Paul Thompson has been promoted to be a full Executive Director, joining Managing Director Mike Cowley and Chairman Andy Buxton on the Executive Board.
Blaze have also appointed two new Associate Directors – Chris Brook and Antony Hopker – who will join the club’s Management Team with immediate effect. Brook, who has been a sponsor of the Blaze for several seasons will be focusing on a number of new initiatives during the forthcoming campaign while Hopker will be taking ownership of and responsibility for the club’s communication strategy which will include media communication, the matchnight programme and the club’s website.
Club Chairman Andy Buxton said:
"As this organisation continues to grow and increase its profile and scope of operation, it’s essential that we look to ensure we have the right management in place to maximise our potential. Paul has been a key member of the Club’s management team for a number of years now and we are delighted to recognise the importance of his contribution to our past and our future by appointing him to the Executive Board of the company.
"We’re also delighted to welcome Antony and Chris to the management team – two individuals who have done so much for us since we came to Coventry and who are keen to do even more in the future. They will bring new skills and valued experience to the management team as Associate Directors and we are looking forward to them making a great contribution to the club during the course of next season and beyond. They have some great ideas and they should be an extremely positive influence during the next stage of our development.”<br>
Thompson said: "I've been with this organisation for my entire coaching career and I have seen Blaze go from strength to strength on and off the ice. We have grown as a club, building up a huge and loyal fan base, an unrivalled junior development system, and strong links with an ever-increasing number of sponsors, and I am happy to become a member of the board."
