right, we all know that we are to play the BNL teams home and away, but is there are ruling to say that we have to abide by import limits in the away games, or is it that we just play them as we are? have i missed the actual rules of this competition?

Does the team that wins the National Cup actually get a cup for it as it is called the National Cup or are the games between Elite League sides and BNL sides just mean't to be a way of showing that the 2 leagues are coming to some sort of agreement and are on the same page.

Er... you get a cup. Hence it being a cup.

Yeah I know it sounded a stupid question but who remembers them Best Of British games a couple of seasons back where you could only ice British players. I thought that was an actual competition but they were basically just challenge matches.

The name is very misleading as there is no actual cup to be won. the games you play the points go towards the respective league. so if coventry beat fife they get two elite league points. and thats it. its just testing the water for a merger between the two leagues and i believe the BNL teams work on a 8 import ruling and the elite league teams have to work on a 10 import rule for the cross over games and 11 for elite league games. you also have to have 2 under 21 players in your squad for the cross over games

So what bright spark decided to call it the National Cup? I take back my sarcastic reply to The Rich.
Why not call it something like the Crossover Challenge?

Not so fast. I'm sure I read somewhere about the Blaze shooting for FOUR competitions League Play Offs Challenge Cup National Cup?
That said such is the fixture list that I think it will probably be a straight-to final with whomever from each league accrues the most points.
Still awaiting confirmation though

on the subject of blaze shooting for four competitions i believe they are involved in 'th rink cup' involving Cardiff, basingstoke, coventry and london. The national definatly has no winner and it is a stupid name for it i agree

I thought TUI was something to do with unions! I'm guessing the T stands for "Thomsons" that is the flight type of people not our glorious coach. Stanley Cup would be nice but think those pesky North Americans would get the hump if we pinched their trophy

I always wondered what the "TUI" meant on the back of the seat in front on the planes!
