This is a real shame.. we can only hope the Phoenix will return in 1 or 2 years .Can't see that playing every game on the road will work but maybe they can give it a go. The MEN was far too expensive too use so hopefully a 3,000 seater would be cost effective and give them a chance to flourish in the future. All the best to the manchester Fans and club.

This is a real problem for the league as i believe they were looking at expanding the league (Glasgow, Leeds Dublin et al) not reducing it. Hands up who thought London would be the first casualty- Me for one.
Hope Phoenix get it together in some format to play this coming season as interest will completely go if they lose a second team in as many years

according to CeeFax page 389, it is now confirmed that they will not play this season!

We need the top two leagues to merge, then if one team has to bow out for a season it won't be such a loss. A 7-team league is pretty crappy.

Ime sorry manchester will not be playing next season we need more teams not less but if that what it takes to safe guard ice hockey in manchester so be it. Hope to see you back soon
