It's all to do with the National Cup.

By the looks of things, points picked up in National Cup games will also go towards the league even if we are playing against a BNL team, ridiculas if you ask me, getting points for beating teams that arn't even in our league.

Might seem a bit strange but its the only way of making the games count for something and be taken seriously ,unless you were to invent a fourth trophy after the CC, league and play offs.

I like the idea of the points counting towards the the teams league, it definetley makes the games more competitive. Three trophies is enough in one season (Grand Slam) for whoever manages to win all three, a fourth trophy would be too much in my opinion.

I thought that the point of playing against BNL teams is that they may well win some of the games against the Elite sides and open things up a bit. I personally don't see it as a foregone conclusion that the Elite teams will win.

I agree with Rutu15 it will be good to play BNL teams,on paper the elite teams should win but as you know you have an off night, you could end up getting beat just remember some of the displays we put in away from home last season any way it will be good to go somewhere else than the same old venues

It'll be weird to see them both in Vipers shirts, ah well!

We will deffinatly be in 4 competitions next season. The Elite League, The National Cup, The Challenge Cup and the Playoffs (presuming we qualify, we have to finnish top 6 in a league of 7). I am only just getting my head round on how all this Challenge Cup/National Cup thing works myself but I have realised that the Challenge Cup format will be different to what it was last season. Rather than playing everyone we will be in a group with Basingstoke Bison and Sheffield Steelers with results against them 2 teams counting towards the league as well and the National Cup (I think). The top 2 in the group qualify for the semi finals.
