Who, Vodafone? Still working on the Pigbag Calder song-so far have come up with the incredibly poor 'the puck's in the net, must be Calder', but that's awful... It's getting close to season's start, isn't it? Must try harder...

You don't necessarily need any words as the tune is strong enough. Maybe you should pop along to the Real Theatre of Dreams to hear how 13,000 Holte Enders sing it for der Bomber!!

How dare you suggest a City fan go to the Holte End-I'd be arrested with sticks of dynamite in my pocket. Can see the reasoning behind just the tune though-the easier it is, the quicker it'll catch on, and the less like a library (with of course the obvious exception of those who work bloody hard to build the atmosphere-they know who they are) the Skydome will be...

Didn't you go to Villa Park in May 2001? You missed a classic. 2-0 down to win 3-2.
Now if only we could get a Blaze version of "We'll Meet Again" like the Holte Enders did that day

Now if only we could get a Blaze version of "We'll Meet Again" like the Holte Enders did that day I remember that day, my mum cooked me fish fingers and beans to cheer me up. I was on Match Of The Day that night too but unfortunatly only one person I know saw me on it as the rest were to upset to watch Like the legendary sign said though "We'll Be Back"

If you liked the sign I would recommend the book by John Mullaney It is really good and interesting from a fans perspective.
Tried the Pigbag/Adam Calder tune out tonight at the speedway and it seemed to go well. Much discussion about Mondays new announcement ranging from Nick Chinn to Lee Jinman. My point is that if we were to be told we could start on the newanthem immedatel unless those who "know" are holding on to the knowledge for their own benefit

Given that it's now only a day and a half to the new season, it might be easier to place all the songs in one place (perhaps the B2P could print a few off for themselves, and give 'em a bash at the MK game-I will be otherwise engaged for that and the Cardiff game, but will be there in full voice on Sunday to really sell the songs. Here they are then. In, of course, player order...with tunes in brackets
JODY LEHMAN (of course, the Jody song-just chant his first name over and over again-unless we're v Cardiff, in which case 'you'll be beaten by a girl' is equally appropriate.)
DAN SHEA (Dancing in the Street) 'Shout it out around the world, cause Dan Shea's on the ice!' 'Best back-up goalie in the league-Dan Shea's out on the ice!'
DOUG SCHUELLER (The Flintstones) Schueller! Dougie Schueller! He's the big man skating on the D Red line, or the blue line If you cross him you'll be his-to-ry...
MICHAL VRABEL (Hey Mickey) Hey Mickey, you're so fine Standing there on (or, after a goal, 'scoring goals from') the blue line Hey Mickey! Hey Mickey!
PAVOL MIHALIK (To the tune of the Manu Petit Song-you'll recognise it when you hear it) He'll check, he's quick, and nifty with a stick Mi-hal-ik, Mi-hal-ik (Or) His name's, Pa-vol, and he's just scored a goal Mi-hal-ik, Mi-hal-ik...
JAMES PEASE (to the tune of the Poddington Peas-e) Down on the middle of the blue-line Among the forwards and D's Skates a big tough British d-man Whose name is James Pease!
NEAL MARTIN (Hi-ho, Silver Lining) And it's nice one Neal Martin 'Cause he's just scored a goal You thought his shot was wide but Now you know it's not-because it's obvious...
ANDRE PAYETTE (to the old Steve Gallace song) Andre Payette, Andre Payette....
GRAHAM SCHLENDER (Hey Big Spender, of course) The minute the puck hit the net You could see it was a goal of distinction A real game-breaker Hey Big Schlender! (hey big Schlender) Scooooooooorrrrrree...another goal for me
RUSS COWLEY (Delilah) Go, go, go...Russ Cowley.... go, go, go...Russ Cowley... So, before he goes to skate in and score Forgive the netminder, he just couldn't take any more... (Forgive the netminder, he just couldn't take any more!) GO BLAZE!
DAN MACKRIEL (same tune as Mihalik) He's Brit, he's swish-his name sounds like a fish Mack-ri-el, Mack-ri-el....
TOM WATKINS Who put the puck in the (Racers) net? Who put the puck in the (Racers) net? Who put the puck in the (Racers) net? Super Tommy Wat-kins Super, Super Tom....and so on.
ASHLEY TAIT (Agadoo) Ash....ley...Tait, Tait, Tait Will you score a goal for me? Ash-ley, Tait, Tait, Tait Will you score a goal for me? From the left, from the right, from the blue-line and the d Ash-ley Tait, Tait, Tait, Will you score a goal for me?
ADAM CALDER (Papa's Got A Brand New Pig Bag) Simple-sing the tune, and then, at the end of each phrase, simply say 'Adam Cal-der'
DAN CARLSON (That's Amore) When...the...puck hits the net It's not Johnny Craighead, it's Dan Carlson... Best player in the land isn't Dar-ling or Hand It's Dan Carlson...
JOEL POIRIER (Marriage Of Figaro Overture) Jooooooooo-el Poirier, Jooooo-el Poirier....
That's all the player songs for now...if my hands didn't hurt, I'd put on all the opposition ones-here's a taster:
(For Sheffield, to the tune of the Addams Family) Darling's as thick as lumber And Blaisdell's done a runner You're even worse than Lon-don... The Steelers family!
Thank-you, and goodnight...

I prefer the first Mihalik song of the two. Did you come up with all these yourself? good work.
I think we could do better for Andre Payette though.
