Apparently the Eliteleague forum will be off-line until further notice - any ideas why ?

To be honest it's no great loss. It was often full of butt crawlers who didn't take well to any form of critisicm from other teams fans or even sensible ones of their own. I'm sure half the posters were pre teen with their "Oooh I love "Insert name of the week" even though he had a bad game he is so dreamy" etc It didn't really offer much except for people to become their alter egos from behind their keyboards- referring specifically to the handful of people who threatened my good friend with physical violence on many occasions from their desktops but never had the grapefruits to speak to him rationally at any of the games. When the majority of the posters (And there weren't the "Everybody in the Dome" that some claimed) want to act like irresponsible brats just to make themselves look good then said medium is not doing its function. This forum for instance is slighly more grown up (Although with a mischievous twinkle in its eye at times ) and good reasoned debate occasionally breaks out. But also with a sprinkling of fun for everyone- witness the debate s between 2 good mates on the various football linked threads If this happened on the "Elite?" forum it would have lost its banteresque qualities at the start. At a suggestion to all on here about increasing the scope of this forum how about including sections for other Elite league teams to have their own category boards (If sufficient interest is shown) similar to the Blaze one? Worthwile idea?

Good thing about the Elite forum was you could pick up snippets from all teams, without having to go the the cage, kotg, steeltalk et all. THF is good for this though so not the end of the world tbh.

We're hoping to try to be a bit more inclusive of other teams on here. It may not be an instant fix but the more we get to discuss their own issues then the stronger it will be.
This being the aim should each team have their own board or should there just be a general free-for-all of the others?
All feedback will be useful.
P.S. spread the word where you can as we can only utilise other teams if there is sufficient interest.

Ooh, I remember that, that was quite a while ago wasn't it? As in a few years or has it happened since? On topic, I have an account for the Elite League one but didn't use it much, I felt this forum was friendlier and homelier(if thats a word) compared to the other one. Also, I think at first you may want to have it as a free for all, then as the topics grow or separate, introduce categories for different teams.

Not sure though. Rumour has it the Elite League Forums were taken down at the request of the clubs. Thats just what I'v read elsewhere. If that is the case then it is no great loss as having clubs dictate what can and can't be said surely goes against the whole concept of what fans forums are about. They should be unofficial and ran by fans for fans imo.

Good points from Ali and Rich.
Hopefully the word can be spread and we can welcome fans from other clubs and accord them their own topic stations (Hey I've just invented a new buzz phrase ;D) to discuss in a civilised manner without the constraints previously felt on the Elite? vehicle
