Blaze confirm that Sunday game face off time will remain as 6.00pm
The Cassidy Coventry Blaze would like to confirm that after further discussion, we are not going to go ahead with the experimental 5.15pm face off for Sunday games and that the face off time will revert back to 6.00pm with immediate effect.
“It’s very clear from the feedback we have received in the last twenty four hours, that our supporters really didn’t want to see the face off time moved earlier,” commented Blaze Chairman, Andy Buxton.
“Since the start of the season, we’ve received a lot of feedback from prospective new fans who felt that they would be more likely to start coming to more games if the face off and therefore finish time was earlier. We hoped that by moving the face off to 5.15 we would help to attract more new fans and that the 45 minute change would not inconvenience current supporters much, if at all.
“Sometimes though, we have to hold your hands up and say that we misjudged the feeling of our current fan base. They have been magnificent over the years and they have to be our top priority. With that in mind, we are not going to implement the face off time change and will be staying at our traditional 6pm Sunday start time.
“I would like to stress to our fans though that for us to continue to be the club that we are and for us to consistently compete at the top end of the league, is extremely challenging. We need to continually look at ways to attract and retain more supporters if we are going to keep competing with the really big clubs in the sport.
“Bigger clubs are better placed to ride out difficult economic conditions than we are. We want to appeal to all our fans to do everything they can to get new people along to our games and to help encourage them to come back time and again. We’re doing all we can and we need them to do the same.”
