They don't seem to be well received on the Inbred Elite Forum. Still they never seem to be that creative on there and will doubtless just stick to their own 3 ones Still the Boyz in The Block (11) will try these in between removing shoes no matter what those more stuck up butt kissers think

They'll always be people unimpressed, everyone is entitled to their opinions though, if people don't like a chant they don't have to sing it. If enough people don't sing something then it won't catch on and will quickly fade. This Sunday against Newcastle should be used to experiment new ideas, my mind is prety blank at the moment when it comes to thinking up songs, but no doubt I'll think one or two up during the week (good or bad) as will some other people. I think we could have some fun this season.

Best way to do it is if each little group just does their own thing rather than try to manufacture anything across the board.
Shoes off Block 11 ;D

One me and JP have come up with to stir up a bit of passion for when Giants are in town.
He scored in New York He scored in the Big O But that boy Fleury never scored at the Dome.

There are methods to the madness. We wanted a definitive list to stick songs on the box to try and get the whole arena to catch on rather than the odd few.
It makes sense to all be singing one chant than lots of very small groups singing their own stuff which wont be heard. We look to those like the block 11 crowd to help us lead the chanting as they used to from Block 2 however if the song list we decided on isn't well liked then i'm sure there's scope for change.
Thanks

This may surprise a few people but after much (occasionally mildly heated) conversation with Sally over the off-season, I can see the logic of what she is trying to do here...I accept that the organic way might have worked in the past but as has been mentioned further up the thread the creativity on a mass level simply isn't what it was-most of the Skydome crowd need to be led to sing and won't think for themselves-if you want the Dome to rock it needs a few to drive it and everyone else to simply follow. The simple point is, do you want to be a few people and have the vast majority of the crowd think "what a bunch of drunken idiots" or do you want to drive stuff along and make some serious noise week in, week out?
Here's the list of "goers" thus far...
Adam Calder - Obvious Barrie Moore - Obvious Sylvain Deschatelets - The Poirier Song. Can be modified v Nottingham to "Who needs Dan Tessier, we've got Des-chat-e-lets" Perras: Just "J.F Perr-as"? Simple enough if you want mass noise.. LeClair: Rupert the Bear has been mooted. I prefer Tom Hark, myself... O Connor: Simply sing the Macarena and "Hey...Ben O'Connor" at the end... Lewis - Blue Danube Waltz: "Car-ly-le Lew-is (clap clap, clap clap) Cowley - Delilah...for now! Jamieson - Yellow Submarine - "We all dream of a team of Jamiesons"? Wood - Knock on Wood and the soundbite of Woody Woodpecker! Stewie: Tom Hark'll do. Just sing his uddy name though-the rest is a bit...well, pants. Carlson - Amore. But [perhaps it's too long-so try "Bread of Heaven" Oh, Dan Carlson, oh, Dan Carlson He'll score goals for evermore... Kelman - The Pompey Chimes?! That is a genius tune. Rather than for Lewis, though..."Scott-y Kel-man, Scott-y Kel-man" Weaver - "One Jonny Weaver" Soderstrom - The Soderstrom Song (Beside The Seaside): Time to revive a classic...
Also, more people need to get involved in the German import of "shouting player's surnames" when they're announced. Assuming we can get John to do so, we also follow it up with the score like so...
"Goal scored by twenty-one, Sylvain...DESCHATELETS!
That makes the score Blaze...ONE! Giants...NIL! YOU'RE PANTS!
Do that for the first game or two from your perch in Block 11 and people WILL join in. I might even come join you for the first game or two, just for a while...
In fact, tomorrow is as good a start as any.
I happen to know you'll get some support, too...

You can't manufacture atmosphere as it will appear totally contrived. Best to let those with a flourish of creativity have a go at what they want. If it catches on it will spread like wildfire a la the songs for Calder Cheverie & Payette in recent years. Give it a month or so to settle and hey presto a plethora of new chants should be regular. Notice how "Shoes Off" was starting to pick up speed.
No need to worry about everybody all joining in like a community choir from the opening fixture in fact most European nations tend to have different sections "competing" with one another with different songs and chants. The result being a superb natural atmosphere and doesn't come across as fake.

I do see where you're coming from Steve but i'm talking about stifling creatvity or having a "Set list" and you can only sing those chants. I'm talking about having music on the box for the more obvious ones (it would be pretty pointless to play a song on the box) when 6 people sing something totally different! If that song doesn't go down well i'm sure James will just no longer play the music. I'm not talking about being totally controlling just trying to get "some" stuff" to catch on is all. Just like when Block 2 folk asked me to distribute song lists, same kind of thing. I'm asking for help and voices is all. And I would really appreciate your help.

Totally agree Sally. My point was in Paul's previous comment which seemed to indicate a more choreographed version which generally could come across as forced. Most of the songs and chants snapshot parts of songs which are fairly recyclable. Often though it tends to be a basis of trial and error rather than anything else which will produce.
I'm sure the 11ers will be able to help in this regard to assist James in the soundbox

funny thing is we are having a similar convo on an albion site I help run. No one seems to want to make noise anymore at sporting occasions. I think support from the soundbox would really help encourage everyone to join in
