I don't like pizza but no worries I'm sure I'll find somewhere that serves fish and chips. Will you do your legendary "Alright mate, fish and chips please" to the foreign bloke serving you? When everyone else is trying there best to say the food in the repective language as the bloke doesn't understand English lol..

Well at the end of the day how am I to know that somebody can't speak English if I don't attempt to speak English to them? Imagine if the bloke in Grenoble spoke English, I could have saved the people behind me in the queue a lot of time by drawing this to their attention. As it happened I drew it to their attention that he couldn't speak English meaning nobody had to bother trying to find out themselves and could use the time queing trying to figure out the French for what they wanted to order. We legends always think of others

Who would be up for a spot of Calcio (football) with the locals? I'm sure we could organise a friendly between our two nations.............

Who would be up for a spot of Calcio (football) with the locals? I'm sure we could organise a friendly between our two nations............. We did that in Grenoble. Met a load of Grenoble fans and arranged a big footy match on a pitch across the road from the rink (ideal) Oh and by the way, the English whooped the French ;D Count me in.

Update on the football..........
A guy i know from Bolzano is having words with his mates to see if he can get a load of them to play. We'll sort out the finer details of this over the next couple of weeks, but at the moment it's more than likely going ahead.
So what do we all reckon, Italian flair, or British grit to win?

It's funny how memories differ...I played with the French and distinctly remember curling in a 25-yard Ballack special...for the French to win something like 9-6... Aye well...I could be up for a game this time round. Although does national pride outweigh the chance to put in a high boot on certain members of this forum? It does. For now...

9-6 to the French? What game were you playing in? I think I scored the goal to put the English about 6-0 up when I cheekily robbed the ball off their goalkeeper when he dropped it out of his hands. The French did get a few goals back though when Partick Viera turned up, but it was still quite a comfortable victory for the nation that inventd fooball.
