Jody wasn't consistent enough for my liking, though he had a good attitude last season. EDIT Rumour - Radmall to Solihull How can a goalie that ends the year with a 91% save rate not be consistent enough? If you'd told Thommo at the start of the year thats Jody would put up that sort of save% he'd have been well chuffed.

...I have high standards. How about all the goals OB cost us with his wayward passing? How about all the goals Hilly, frenchie, Joel and co cost us becuase they missed sitter after sitter? How about Schlender not throwing a single check in the last 3 months of the year? Too many people seem to want to have a pop at Jody and not the other players?

Thommo is on the verge of signing a new centre for next season. He has played in both the ECHL and AHL and he has a good scoring record, which is good if he can continue that for us, if we get him.
Article from the Telegraph:
Coventry Blaze coach Paul Thompson is hopeful that he is close to filling in one of the biggest holes confronting him this summer.
With Steve Chartrand retiring, Michael Tasker and Shaun Johnson both returning to play in the north-east, and Lee Richardson opting to sign for Bracknell, Thompson hasn't a single centreman to his name.
He has drawn up a shopping list of the attributes he is looking for and thinks he has found the first person to fill the gap.
He is placing an emphasis on size and speed throughout his side as he rebuilds for the Blaze's second year in the Elite League.
And he is looking to North America to find someone with the right qualities. He is currently in negotiations with a centre who has a good scoring record in the East Coast Hockey League, but has also spent time in the higher-ranked American Hockey League.
He said: "I'm not taking anything away from the contributions of Frenchie, Task or Shuggy, but I feel I need a different style of player next year.
"I didn't get many points from my centremen last year, and there were reasons for that with injuries getting in the way.
"The guy I'm talking to at the moment has speed, awareness and will be able to bring people into the game.
"Crucially, he puts up good numbers, and that's something we didn't get as much of last year as other teams."
Thompson said more signings were on there way, with the identity of the next British player set to be confirmed next week.
So far, Ashley Tait has put pen to paper, and three young play-ers from Telford who will play on two-way deals: Tom Carlon, Adam Brittle and Dan Mackriel.

So is Carps really going to play at MK next season? He did indeedy say something about an offer from MK when we spoke to him the other day so it's probably quite likely that he'll go there.......could have said something to him today but it was more funny listening to him make his excuse for losing at chinese poker ;D

You aren't going to get a better netminder than Jody to come over on the money avaliable in the EIHL.

Total tosh. Of all the players we had last year Jody was one of the most consistent. How many games did he cost us? One or two? Ask yourself how many games OB costs us with his wayward passes that gifted the opposition soft goals? Ask your self how many games we lost becuase we put 40 shots at the oppostion NM and couldn't score? Ask your self how many sitters Ruggles missed, how many sitters Schlender missed? The fact is that Jody put up better numbers than in the year he was voted player of the year despite playing behind a weaker D at a higher level. I'll ask again-how can a player who puts up a 91% save rate over 56 games not be consistent? Perhaps if some fans as much time watching the game as they do trying to start mexican waves they might see these things?

The whole weaker D thing, erm I kind of agree now I think of it. Last season there was no I wonder who will be in D tonight, it was two solid D lines of Moborg and Shudra, Carpenter and Soderstrom! This season, Gallace who was originally meant as a D man moved to be a forward. Then we didn't week in week out have 4 quality import defencmen icing for us.
The whole mexican wave thing- that is a whole lot of rubbish, we are all huge hockey fans, a few of us probably knowing more about hockey than you. We also pay loads of attention to the game and watch it all, just sometimes if there is along pause, we may try and start a mexican wave or at the end of the period.
