I think the crucial point is "extra seating" as standing areas is left upto common sense really as long as not too many are let in for safety issues to come into play

For fire regs the arena can hold 4200, so that is never going to be an issue for hockey. Remember it's got loads of exits (about a dozen is memory serves), so that's not an issue....
At the end of the day, if your going to do anything it's got to be commericailly sound for both the Blaze and Planet Ice to do it. Extra changing rooms would be a benifit, especially if the Chaos/Juniors/Phoenix wanted to run a Tournament out of the Skydome.

Well I reckon there could be a block 16, if space allows. The Blaze chairman was on Radio WM during the Cardiff Devils cup final home leg match (listened to it on the radio,) and he said he reckoned another 1,500 more season tickets could be sold (taking the overall capacity to 4,200. I did the interview with him...what he actually said was we are hoping to up season tickets to around 1500 total not another 1500 which wouldnt affect the capacity of the arena. No matter how you look at it there isnt to scope to increase seating capacity to 4200 (although it would be nice) The aim at the minute is to get some more seats in the building as lots of people (families and the like) don't like to stand. All possibilities are being explored but nothing is set in stone right now.

Just to make clear, i wasn't saying that you could ever get 4200 in for hockey ,just that for the purposes of fire regs, that is the maximum.

No I know. I was quoting Covunistudent in my post who stated capacity could be increased to 4200.
Just clarifying what we actually said in the interview which he misunderstood.

I've had a great idea to increase the amount of people we can fit in the Skydome!!! Why don't we all just stand closer together
