On any Elite League team (even the Devils Pease could easily hold down a roster spot-this season he's risen to a level above, say, Jason Stone or Ryan Lake, and is at least at Leigh Jamieson's level as far as British d-men are concerned-he'll hit and can play the puck well. Still needs to work on his shot, perhaps, but has been immense when called upon this season-a shoe-in for the Best Brit award at the moment... I'ed take Jason Stone any day of the week mate

Peasy is a good hitter , its stopping whoever we play to get to our blue line , so hes doing his job well. hes def equal even better than most brit players at his age. one to keep thommo.

IMO Pease has been good. Compared to what we have seen from him in previous seasons the improvement is amazing. What he does now is use his physical size, and does all the simple things. He doesn't look to make the skillful plays that Martin does, and his passes tend to be the easy option, but thats what has helped him this season doing the simple thing, and doing it right. Would be nice to see him try and shoot the puck more often. I don't think he is as yet up to the sandards of Stone and certainly not up to the same all round level of Leigh Jamieson. As for best brit award, i don't think so, most improved player definitely, but to be best player involves playing at a high level consistently. Tait has had his critics this season and it is a quieter season than his last 2. However he is constantly out there battling and playing to a high level and still contributes a lot to the team.

The fact that we have this Ashley/James debate for best Brit makes you realise how much we've lost in that field with Shuggy & Tasks who sadly might be clubless soon if things go pear shaped up north

To be honest, i think Pease deserves both (Most Improved player) and (Best British player) awards this season. Although i agree with what you say JAC regarding Ashley, i just think Pease deserves it this season.

JP (Peasy not Poirier) has deffinatly been our most improved player this season, as for best British player though, that has to go to either the skipper or Super Tommy Watkins. Then again we are only just half-way through the regular season so things could change.

In all fairness to Tommy Watkins, i can't see him getting best Brit. It's either Tait or Pease IMO, but like you say, we are only half way through the season - things can change!

I will put it this way. Whenever James Pease is on the ice this year there is a much greater confidence in his abilities to cut it with the big boys than in the last 5 years. For that reason alone he deserves all the plaudits he hopefully gets this year. Most improved Best British player
He gets my vote in both

Peasy is probably not the best Brit in th EIHL but I agree he is the most improved. He is a completely different player to previous years and all of them were at a lower level! Deserves his place on the roster.
IMO Cowley has also improved a lot especially in the physical side of the game.

Just after recalling the sheffield game , ive remembered how peasy has rose to the challenge of playing top level. Hes come on a lot since playing at EPL. i think we can trust him in any game to try his hardest.Hes tried so hard to get his game up to scatch . Good luck to him and well done. Everytime I watch Peasey play he gets better, I hope he carry's on playing well! ;D
