What a fairytale ending. All the time travelling up there and it seemed like all was lost when we were two-nil down in the 3rd period. But Messrs Payette and Calder saved the day, in one of the most exciting climaxes (hockey-related) that I've seen in a while.
On the other hand, the Fife fans were absolutely shocking. I've been to Fife once before, and back then I didn't notice anything of this kind. But the fans there were openly swearing and being really quite nasty to the Blaze fans, and thinking nothing of it.
The gentleman wearing black behind the Blaze was rather conspicuous in his outbursts, such as "You c*** s***ing b******." And he seemed quite proud of himself when we all turned round with our jaws on the floor. It was even more annoying than a woman right next to him told John off for saying "bloody hell".
Oh and while I'm on this roll, the fans in Block A in the Fife arena were by far the worst, with the whole range of gestures on display by people of all ages, including two rather old ladies in the "Fife match night crew" yellow waistcoats.
SHAME ON YOU.
Aside from that, the annoying thing about the Fife fans was that if a Blaze player was so much as to gently touch a Fife player, the whole crowd would be up, waving and screaming for a penalty. And a couple of times, it seemed to me that Referee Wilson was calling things based on the crowd reaction.
One good point about the Fife fans is that if the drum starts, the whole crowd around the arena claps along...
I think the whole shockingness of the fans took a little away from the game itself, but the spirits were still high after a great win.
