A sequel to SAW is due for release in October this year and if it's anything like the first one, i CAN'T WAIT!! I rated SAW one of the best films i've ever seen, and let me tell you, i've seen a LOT of films. It had the best ending to a film that i've ever seen, an utter shock Roll on October...

Det. Eric Mason (yet to be cast), who has caught the Jigsaw killer and is looking to put a stop to his current game, already in progress. That game includes a house where unlucky participants are imprisoned and forced to off each other in brutal ways (similar to how Smith's character was forced to kill an innocent man to save her own life in the first film) while a series of video cameras capture the killings. What Mason doesn't realize is that the game is unfolding right in front of him..." writer/director James Wan on the film, where he revealed more info: "Well, without giving too much away...you find out that Shawnee's character did not learn to appreciate the second chance that she earned from the first film. And Tobin's character, Jigsaw, is a prominent figure in this one. In the first film, he was hardly seen but his presence was felt everywhere. And since his identity has been revealed, we're now bringing him to the forefront of the story and exploring him in depth. People will get to see what makes this guy ticks." He then adds some reasoning behind all the madness... "Jigsaw is dying, but he's looking to beat his illness. And he believes, with his last set of games, it will provide him with the cure for his cancer. And what is the cure for death... Immortality." stars Donnie Wahlberg, Franky G., Glenn Plummer, Emmanuelle Vaugier, Beverley Mitchell and Eric Knudsen, with Shawnee Smith, Dina Meyer and Tobin Bell returning from the original. Twisted Pictures, the genre production arm of Evolution Entertainment, and Lions Gate Films are producing the film, skedded for nationwide (US) release on Halloween. Lions Gate Films Intl. will be presenting the pic to international buyers for the first time in Cannes. "Saw 2" is written by Leigh Whannel and Darren Lynn Bousman, who also is making his feature directorial debut. Twisted Pictures' Gregg Hoffman, Oren Koules and Mark Burg are producing, as they did on the original. James Wan and Whannel, the director and writer/co-star of the original, are executive producers.
