Acker Bilk and His Band: Stranger On the Shore (which some may remember as the theme to Dutch detective show Van Der Valk) VDV theme was Eye Level by the Simon Park Orchestra. It was a 4 week number 1 in 1973. Stranger on the shore was I think from a radio show in the early sixties (1962?) but can't remember any more about it. Incidentally I also believe that SOTS is the only million selling instrumental....but it is a remote possibility that I could be slightly less than right on that score ;D |
