Well I wanted the Charlatans one but they did not have any in stock despite having loads of Simon Cowells one I did get the Babyshambles one though which is equally brilliant

Read a great snippet from a critic in one of the Sunday papers who quoted SB as saying "He couldn't wait to go into a shop and see copies of his record on sale" The wag retorted "Wait a month or two and then look in the Bargain Basket at Woolworths"
I don't think Simon Cowell will let him do his own stuff for a long while as that's not what brought him to the dance

Steve is almost certainly having some of his own material on his first album. He doesn't want it full of covers

So far the single has sold 38,000 which yields it a number 2 but way behind top spot.
I am amazed that a single that sells so few can get so high compared to a few years ago and beyond when you needed to shift at least 75,000 just to make the top 20

It was on the midweek chart sales site Never know the link I just found it one day and have it at quick access. Band Aid is way ahead and closing in on 475,000 (Was 350,000 as at Sunday) Positions 3-10 have sold about 50,000 between them

Steve's still got plenty of time to catch up though. Steve is outselling eveything but Band Aid 10-1. And in quite a few places he is out selling Band Aid, just not by 10-1
