Having graduated from university, ok ok last summer, i have been thinking a lot about what i want to do with my life. I have been temping in finance since then, but lately i have been thinking about having a career. How do people feel about their career situation? My options include
a) Becoming a teacher
Reason - my mum is a primary school teacher and so naturally has been trying to put me off it, as the graduate teachers never watch TV as they are marking and preparing classes most of the time.
I failed to mention that watching the TV does not stop mum from preparing for classes or marking. Also, what about the kids, one minute they could be good as gold doing their classwork. The next they could be little rotters and mess around causing trouble. Argh would i be able to remain calm and collected?
b) an astronaut - Reason - i like looking at the stars in the night sky. No other time to see them really
How hard can it be going into space on a rocket spacecraft, and then pressing a few buttons which don't really do anything as ground control have a lot of control anyway. OK ok i don't think its that easy really, but if i had the brains i would consider it as a career.
c) A paramedic - Reason - helping people would create a lot of satisfaction and being active during the day rather than sitting in an office would be good. I don't know whether i would be able to deal with blood and guts though so may have to think about it more.
d) a police officer - Reason- helping within the community and maintaining order would create a lot of job satisfaction, but require calmness under pressure to deal with criminals and nasty people in society.
As you can tell, i am stuck as to what to do with my life.
What are your plans for the future?
