That ref was disgraceful!!! He didn't even give a good reason for the goal to be disalowed. We won that game, fair and square!!

i was honestly angry and i did honestly want england to win. the ref was poor, the penalty spot was ridiculous and england scored a perfectly good goal that was taken off. But at the end of the day, the way you seperate the winners from the losers, is who comes away with the win when its all said and done.

Ah well cheer up everyone the Frogs got beat tonight! Believe it or not I had a sense of foreboding about the England game based on a number of things, Apart from Collina & Frisk refs always tend to favour the home team in these tournaments. Before anyone accuses me of sour grapes I will point out that Spain were robbed in Euro 96 having 2 perfectly good goals disallowed against us before we beat them on penalties (See we win sometimes), and although I wasn't even around in 1966 I don't believe THAT 3rd goal would have been given anywhere but Wembley. Also I did a bit of digging and found that in 6 previous games before yesterday England had only beaten Portuguese speaking opposition once and that was at Wembley Also our record in getting past quarter finals is frankly pathetic. We have only ever been in 4 international semi-finals in over 40 years. Oh yes and David James was in goal ;D

has anyone else noticed the similarities between the English football team, and Tim Henman, neither can get to the final of a major tournament!!! oh well, watch Tim win wimbledon now just to disprove my theory!!

1 bright note, England have a prety good team these days. Ashley Cole is a diamond, whoever says he can't defend can't have been watching the Portugal game. Campbell had a quality tournament, his disribution isn't the best but he is still a solid defender who is capable of scoring goals when forward for set piece. Shame that they always get disallowed.

Did you see Urs Meyer is the papers today? He keeps protesting that he was right, and it was a foul. He is the only person in the whole world that sees it as a foul (other than his girlfriend )
