They have announced the date for this seasons playoff weekend. 10th and 11th April 2005. That is one weekend I am looking forward to big time and unlike last year I am better prepared and will have found a place to stay before 10:30pm on the Saturday night. I just hope Blaze make it to Nottingham this time.

I'm looking forward to it already. I'm quite confident we'll be seeing our team in action this time around, and hopefully we can compete on a noise level with other fans! Disappointing last year. EDIT - This can be the official play-off weekend thread.... any more created I'll lock

I'm really excited about the play-off weekend, i'm sure it'll be great (i have no doubts in my mind that the Blaze will make it) Were a much stronger team this year, possibly one of the best Blaze teams ever.
I sold my play-off weekend ticket last year, something came up and Blaze weren't there so i didn't bother with it.
The posse will have to sort out some accomodation, so none of us get left out.

Last year we went up with no accomodation booked and luckily found a hotel with one room left for 3 people at about 10:30. There was 3 of us so it was exacly what we were looking for. We must have been the luckiest people in Nottingham. Anyway we have got the number of the hotel so this time we are going to book well in advance. Actually it wasn't a hotel it was a Bed & Breakfast but same difference as far as I am concerned ;D.
As for Blaze I don't see any reason why we won't make it but then again I would have said the same thing last season. The playoff group stage is only over 4 games (well 8 this season) so a lot will come down to, which team is on form at the time.
One more thing, on the Elite League website it says that the Payoff is the main thing that teams want to win a head of the League and the Challenge Cup. It got me thinking and to me as much as I would love to see Blaze win the Playoff or the Challenge Cup I reckon the league title is the ultimute prize as that is based on how you play all season where as the other two are just based on how you do in parts of the season. I think I am going to put a poll on here asking, which competition you would most like to see Blaze win.

Playoff time is the best time of the year as you never know whats going to happen, you guys should have made it last year but thast the beauty of the playoffs league form counts for nothing. and i wouldnt say anyone is garunteed a place in the final four.
As for the Elite League saying the playoffs are the big prize to a degree their right. We in Britain are a football domianted country so the League is more improtant to us, but in Canada and america and other european countries the Playoffs are considered more important so every import wants the playoffs more than the league

i'll be going home on the saturday night, and coming back on the sunday morning same as last year.
and also, regarding the blaze fans and noise last year, i think it was all down to the fact that we weren't there as a team, and due to that we were all rooting for various other teams.

We didn't make any noise, but Belfast who were also without a team, made themselves heard.

Last year we were able to get booked accomodation through the Booster club and stayed at a nice hotel albeit a fair way away from where the revelry was taking place. The biggest thing to happen in the hotel was an alledged sighting of John Craighead which spawned more than one rumour over the summer ;D

The saturday night IS the play off weekend, every-one goes out to all local bars, and ya have best night out of the season. To right Dave. I live 20 mins from Nottingham and STILL stayed over. Just hope it does'nt p*ss it down all Saturdy night like it did this year, Pleased to see they are having a 3rd and 4th play-off this year. Although I enjoyed the England -Scotland and MK -Peterborough matches I would rather see two Elite teams going at it.
