Jannsen of New Jersey v Wade. Found this clip of Wade's most recent fight. Bit of a strange one as Wade would normally make mince meat of a guy like Jannsen, who is far from a heavy weight and not up there with the best in the NHL. Has Wade lost his bottle or is it a simple fact that beating a guy like Jannsen is just not that important to break into a sweat over. The announcers got a little excited about Jannsen once his jersey was shed! The whole time after the fight they were in love I think! www.hockey-fights.com/videos/20061118/Jannsen%20vs%20Belak.wmv

You're a bit behind, Aldo! He's had 2 fights since this one vs Janssen where he just looked plain exhausted and not interested in throwing too many
Many people were seriously down on Wade who just wasn't the same after getting his nose busted last season but since this fight vs Janssen he got a big win against Orr- the guy that broke his nose, and an edge against Brashear (despite a facial injury in the previous game), too. Those fights have done wonders for his confidence and Belak certainly looks happier now he's opened up and had a couple of decent scraps.
Hopefully he'll keep improving and hold on to his roster spot but he certainly looks like he's fighting (literally) to stay in the NHL

Glad to hear that Wade is back firing on all cylinders again. Was getting slightly worried that if he didn't start to go against some of the big boys with a bit more conviction that he could end up being cut. Might shut a few of the Belak bashers up for a while too.

Bit unfair on Janssen-the guy is young and can easily make mincemeat of people twice his size where necessary-and generally has to take them on as middleweights like Hollweg, Gaustad etc have already been utterly destroyed by him.
I can't really see the difference between Ndur and Belak when you compare them at NHL level, to be honest-both are possibly a little too slow but were willing to throw punches where necessary.
I think Belak found his level to excel at EIHL level that year...any higher and his lack of speed begins to become an issue.

Have to disagree, Belak is much tougher than you are giving him credit for. A very good technical fighter IMO and isn't slow, just not that fast! When he came over to the UK, he was rated as being a top 15 fighter in the show. Alot of its confidence really, but Belak is now returning to winning ways.
