Nashville Predators and former London Racers centre Scott Nichol was suspended for nine games for a blind-side punch to the head of Buffalo Sabres defenseman Jaroslav Spacek. The incident occurred at 15:21 of the third period when Nichol was assessed a minor penalty for instigating, a major for fighting, a 10-minute misconduct and a game misconduct as the aggressor. Nichol will be eligible to return January 13 against Columbus and will forfeit $25,267 in pay. www.hockey-fights.com/videos/20061221/Nichol%20Sucker%20Punch.wmv

was watching the game live on Nasn, and for me all spacek did was keep him away from Biron (NM) he didn't do anything wrong, just little scott nichol didn't like being well defended against, real cheap shot and was pointless as he gained nothing but a ban from it, for me, it should be a bigger fine and a bigger ban, as it wasn't the same, but was similar to the Bertuzzi/Morre incident, blind-side punch and he was looking to put his head into the ice, and it was only because of Biron that he didn't as Biron was having a pit of fun using his blocker to hit Nichol on the helmet, i would of prefered Andrew Peters to have been on the ice to give Nichol what he deserves but i don't think he was dressed, all in all, shame on the ex-racer !

He can be a dirty player, when he was with the Racers he was dirty as hell! If Peters was playing / on the ice Nichol would have got a pasting!

Well fiesty there was never any doubt it whilst over here, but he did do a couple of things over here that were dirty. I can't remember them of the top of my head! He did lose a fight to Leigh Jamieson! He also managed to have one funny fight with Joel Poirier- (I have a 04/05 British fights tape). To get Poirier to fight you needed a slap, because he got frustrated easily IMO, but you'd struggle to get the man to drop the gloves!
