Hey peeps!
Just bought 2 tickets for the New York Rangers vs Tampa Bay Lightning for when i go over to New York in February with the girlfriend ;D
Was just wondering if anyone had been to New York/MSG and could just let me know what it's like..
Cheers!

Been to New York and MSG....unfortunatly it wasn't during the hockey season so didn't get to see the Rangers.....did get to see Yankees at Yankee stadium which was awesome. New York is great though, and what I saw of MSG was good, very nice arena. I'd recommend you visit Central Park, Empire State building, Statue of Liberty, and try and catch a show on Broadway, they are all great.

Thanks Steph. As for your recommendations, we do plan on doing all of what you mentioned, i'm hoping to get tickets for a Broadway show for my girlfriends 21st, she's wanting to go and watch Wicked. Exciting stuff

Sorry to butt into this one as a newbie but I went to MSG the other week and it was amazing!!! Make sure you have the cocktail (or get your wife/gf to order it) because you get it in a flashy beaker which flashes the tune (if that makes sense) lets go rangers. It is expensive to eat in MSG but not massively more so tha rest of NY.
When it ends come out the main enterance because there is a manned taxi queue and if you are still hungry ask the driver to take you to little India because there are some amazing curry houses there!!!

Yeah its not bad- I struggled to see one of the nets from my seat but a little strain of the neck and it was fine!!! Its designed so you can see from anywhere- as you would expect if i went again I would look for seats in the middle section to see more and not so far back. Only advantage of being so far back was close to the bar!!!
Also get in early and get your drinks and food at the start- the queues in the intervals are mad but at the start not to bad.

I think we have tickets in the corner, high up. To be honest, the tickets for this specific fixture are like gold dust, it's the only Friday fixture the Rangers have at MSG. I'm just looking forward to getting in the most famous arena in the world and watching some decent NHL action Thanks for the tips, if you can think of any more please do let me know, they are appreciated. Glad you had a good time!

YESS!!! 3-2 win over the Devils last night- although they left it late!!!
Not related to the hockey- if you get the chance get a table at tavern on the green its amazing esp at night. And dont go to the Empire State go up the Rockafella Centre in stead the view in better and its les crowded!!!
