The first thing I noticed when I started watching the games this season was that the standard of netminding has shot up and at first Jody seemed to be the weak point in our team.
And then recently I started to notice that Jody seems better than last season but he still scares me at least once a match, my recollection is a bit fuzzy but I think Barry Hollyhead was a bit like this, and I thought maybe he'll make less mistakes and he won't be so scary to watch but I don't think he will and I have started to wonder if Jody is going to be good enough, i'm not saying he should go now, but next season I think we might need to start looking elsewhere for a goalie more like Belfasts or to some extent Hulls.
What do you think?
(Sorry the question came out badly but i find it hard to put across a question like this by just typing it down)

When Jody is confident and on form he can be a very good netminder (Belfast game where he got MOM).
However far too often we see the other Jody, the one who lets in too many weak goals. He at times struggles when facing breakaways by commiting too early, taking away the bottom half of the net but allowing them to flip the puck into the top half. His glove hand isn't great when his confidence is down and a lot of teams seem to be putting a few more shots up there. When he goes to play the puck it is a bit nerve racking at times as he doesn't always play it with confidence, sometimes lack of communication between him and the defensemen can cause real problems.
Overall he is an ok goalie at this level who can when confident and playing well be very good and make you think wow, but he does have the tendancy to give up a soft goal when not playing so well.
I'd still have him ahead of Cugnet, and place him at a similar level to Platt and maybe just behind Vogel. Klempa (who looks to have the best glove hand) and Cruickshank (although he still looks iffy at times) look to be the two best in the league, but I haven't seen Daigle yet.
The way it seems IMO is that every part of the team has improved from last season except for the netminding (although performances overall have been slightly better this season compared to last so far).

James has got it spot on again. Jody, whilst not being the best in the league is far from the worst and is somewhere in the middle. Jody is very much a confidence player hence the extremes in his game.
Come on Jody

I think Jody has improved a bit this year, last year i thought he lost you many games against the Devils for having about a thousand holes in him or loosing his rag and giving away penalties from the 3 times i have seen him this year he seems to concentrate a lot better

His overall concentration has improved, now he just needs the consistency
Go Jody
i spoke to Jody tonight (After the Devils game) and wished him good luck for the rest of the season. He remarked that the team is playing well and just need the rub of the green and things will go our way. Again I will reiterate that as well as being a very good goalie he is a thoroughly nice bloke, as a confidence player it does seem as though the onus is on us the fans to get behind him to see us to glory.
C'mon Jody mate
