Whats the difference between them? (And please don't say that in one someone trips over, and the other one involves hooking with the stick.)
To my surprize I'm actually learning quite a lot as I've been to a few more matches. But this still causes me confusion.
Having recently been to a match (the last league match against Sheffield) where a player got 2 minutes for hooking my first thought was "that will be called for hooking or tripping but I'm not sure which I need to ask on the forum to know the difference."
So heres the question. Thanks in advance for the answers.

Thats tripping explained, but how come in the match against Sheffield was someone called for hooking when it looked like tripping?

I wouldnt worry about it too much, I think some refs will call one and some another. If the penalty is the same I think they dont mind.
It probably depends where the stick is too but if a ref knows a stick was used and a player fell he will make a call.
I think Carpo is the best bet for this.
