The rumours were on the Elite forum earlier today and I have been getting texts saying that Rob Stewart has been sacked and Paul Heavey is the new Steelers coach. Just checking for confirmation before I put it on the news fader.

There will be an official announcement at 11 am tomorrow.
I'm having to go round all other teams forums for info on my team. Any threads on Steeltalk are getting pulled as soon as they go up, so as a result it's a bit quiet on there tonight.

Let's hope Stewart stays as he is doing a wonderful job ;D Nice to know Steeltalk is subject to such Big Brother tactics when it comes to rumours and gossip

Apparently this is now gospel Taken from the Elite forum (c&p from steelers forum) It is with deep regret that the Sheffield Steelers confirm that Rob Stewart has been released from his duties as head coach with immediate effect. Paul Heavey, former Head Coach of Cardiff, Ayr and Manchester will take over as the Steelers Coach from now until the end of the season. Steelers owner Norton Lea said “I would like to thank Rob Stewart for his efforts, we all accept that he was in a most difficult position coming to our club so late last summer. “It is never a pleasant thing to have to do at this point of a season but the club felt that a change was needed, that a new direction was required if the Steelers were going to have a positive end to the league season and go into the Play Offs with some momentum. “Whilst we have been unsuccessful in retaining our league championship I want us to have every opportunity to retain the play off trophy for our supporters. __________________

His first game in charge is against the Panthers I believe.
So would that mean as his last game was also against them in the 6-1 drubbing of the play off semi finals, is this some sort of oddity?
