I've just posted an apology on behalf of the Blaze fans for a couple of incidents that happened at Sundays game involving a couple of Blaze fans.
I for one like the Vipers and there fans and i don't want them to hate us because of a couple of Blaze 'wannabe' fans causing problems!

In a nutshell, it seems the usual story of a few muppets making pricks of themselves, and the Blaze crowd as a whole being blamed for it-apparently someone hurled stones at their coach and there was a 'fat kid' waving a Payette shirt at them...can guess who that might be, the idiot...
There must be a way to get rid of these idiots...couldn't Planet Ice stick some more security on (maybe one to each block) instead of having everyone by the player's bench? Andy does a fine job, but he can't police a rink on his own...

I don't mean to be naive but could all this moaning about Blaze fans from other teams just be because of our reputation and it has really all blown out of porportion. For example 1 or 2 incidents may happened in a game say against the Devils that got talked about and went slightly over the top so now other teams fans are trying to be funny having a moan at us. Do people get what I am saying or should I take my Blaze tinted glasses off?

Unfortunately, Rich, you are being slightly naive-there are some right (can't say the word, but rhymes with banker) at the Skydome, and most of them seem to be the same as those who go skating on a Friday/Saturday night (funnily, they all wear baseball caps and have a somewhat high opinion of their toughness as well). The abuse can get pretty nasty if the home and away fans are mixed during the game, as they seem to seek out the opposition and hurl foul language at them. but it always comes from people who are there one week, gone the next, and don't know anything about the sport, and are thankfully in the minority but obviously attracted by the recent success of the club.

Andy does a fine job, but he can't police a rink on his own... It's a real shame if more security is needed but it may be necessary in the short term so that these idiots can be thrown out of the arena. The announcements at the start of the game are clear enough but they will only be effective if people can see that action is taken against the culprits. I thought the Vipers fans were really good sports on Sunday and it is hurtful to think that all Blaze supporters are being labelled as scum or racist through the mindless actions of a few.

Like it or not we as fans are getting a bad reputation from casuals who probably only turn up because it's cheaper than football.
I don't doubt that many fans from around the country can recall good times they have had when meeting Blaze fans although sadly it does appear that it is mostly away from the Skydome.
Personally I can recall myself and PW having a great laugh with a large bunch of Vipers fans in the concourse straight after they beat us in the Findus Crispy Pancakes Cup. None of those fans I'm sure had bad memories of the barmy army (Even though we nicked their song for a couple of years!) and this pattern I'm sure has been repeated by the TRUE fans.
Maybe it is up to us to help the security to get the Skydome back to what it should be an ampitheatre for two sets of fans to enjoy the occasion

Was that the famous 'if you're proud to be a Viper/Blaze fan' moment, when we were swapping actions for about half an hour solid? A great memory..particularly as the Vipers have never been anything less than welcoming when we've gone to the Telewest/Metro Radio arena... As the Blaze hierarchy and probably Planet ice no doubt keep an eye on the forum, is there anything that we could do beyond the current announcements and efforts of Planet Ice security-like appoint a representative to 'police' each block, or just put some pressure on PI to get these people thrown out whenever and wherever the abuse is directed at the opposition crowd, so opposition and Blaze fans know that if they put in a complaint, it will be doubt with somehow, so even the most anti-Blaze fans (like some from Cardiff and Nottingham) can see that it is a minority of idiots?

Following my posts on the Vipers forum, here is what one lovely Vipers fan had to say in a PM to me...
Just goes to show that, it seems to be a little minority of Vipers fans having a moan.

Dunno about anyone else, but if I see or hear of any abuse from now on aimed at visiting fans I will inform the nearest security. to be honest I think we all should before this situation gets too out of hand.
Don't mind being thought of as a grass if it helps restore the good name of the fans of the team I support
Just registered onto the Vipers forum and it is incredibly the same type of deal as the previous week with the Panthers fans. Likewise they both mainly acknowledge that it is a stupid minority.
I felt for them though when they mentioned the sevice in Maison L'Orange ;D
