On the whole the music changes are a pleasant change. I must just say though, changing the music that the Blaze come on to the ice with seemed to fall flat on its face tonight. All the crowd are on their feet and clapping and when the music changes to ride of the valkyies? nobody knew what to do. Just my view but put the enterance music back to how it was.Feel free to jay or nay me on this one.

I would agree with this comment as well. The ride of the valkyries really didn't work but all the other changes are sound!

Give it another week. I'm sure that the fans can adapt next week if they know whats coming! I would suggest losing bye bye baby as it seemed too soft!

Just to add my two penneth, some has already been said 99% great job but intro needs fine tuning .
I think there is a chance of the baby being thrown out with the bath water .
The clapping tune really worked if you don't want the old one there must be an alternative.

I think that the entry music should be changed to to a theme with a decent beat from a film with a fire breathing dragon, come on whats the blaze logo???

Admittedly I'm slightly biased here, as I spent a considerable amount of my own time working on the new intro, but after last night, I asked at least 20 people what they thought of it, and the consensus (by roughly 15 to 5) was that it was far better than the old. As for the whole 'falling flat' thing, perhaps it did seem to as everyone stopped clapping when Sandstorm finished and it went quieter as ROTV built up. However, I think there might be a few rose-tinted specs on-how many people honestly kept the clapping going at the same rate when the players came on last season? It simply shut down and disintegrated as everyone was pausing and individually applauding the players as they came onto the ice-which Ride Of the Valkyries gives them a chance to do, as well as giving John 20 seconds or so to do his 'please welcome the COVENTRY BLAZE!' and run through the team without having it muffled by a thumping drumbeat and maybe half the arena clapping...I did actually think of having the Blaze come out to Sandstorm and having ROTV beforehand-the trouble is not only that Sandstorm is already used as the 'coming-on-ice' song by Nottingham, but it falls flat on its face there as well-the only rink where fans actually keep going all the way through is Cardiff, where they've had the same one for years and it's become a habit (and even that disappears the moment the lights come back up) Finally, using a quote from one of the people I spoke to when I mentioned that a few people had said '..but people stopped clapping'-he replied 'the intro isn't about getting a few people to have a good time clapping, it's supposed to wind the players up and put the fear of God into the opposition'-which, judging by the events of the first ten minutes, ROTV certainly did! The music is always changing, though-and it was nice to see the crowd really up for joining in for the first period at least last night-particularly blocks 2 and 4...

I think the match night was fine before, and is equally fine now. I've never really had a problem with it.
We never hear John D announcing the players' names though. It would be such an improvement to do it the way they do in Cardiff.

For what it's worth I thought the version of Sandstorm then ROTV worked well in the Skydome. As for "everyone" clapping, well if they don't expend their energy clapping the intro maybe they might try chanting once or twice during the game I believe that the inertia of the resistance to anything new shows what a conservative bunch we can be. As has been mentioned many times JD & PW are stamping their own mark on things this year and I for one applaud them for the stirling work thus far. I think the player name check a la Cardiff is the best but that might prove a little trickier to get the players to do it that way

'the intro isn't about getting a few people to have a good time clapping, it's supposed to wind the players up and put the fear of God into the opposition' This is a fair point but the fact that the home fans are clapping enthusiastically before the team comes out onto the ice should help to wind up the players and intimidate the opposition. I certainly thought that this was the way it was working last night. Just being pedantic (please correct me if I am wrong!) but the Steelers use Sandstorm when the team comes out so I can't see Nottingham using it. I also think that the NIC has the most intimidating music for the opposition in Nightmare.

As I've now had quite a few comments on the intro, with them being 50-50 either way, I see that quite a few people want to keep clapping, and that ROTV doesn't give them a chance to do so after Sandstorm. However, it seems a bit stupid to stick with an introduction that no-one likes, so how about this... I've got another piece of intro music that has more 'clappability' and which I can use-however it would look very silly indeed if I kept chopping and changing, and no doubt annoy the players also, so how would everyone be if I tried the different version this Sunday, and then forum members and anyone else interested could vote between the two-it seems that Ride Of The Valkyries is the major bone of contention for the majority (at least used as the coming-on-ice music-I am determined to get it in somewhere as it's an awesome atmosphere-building piece of music) so in the spirit of co-operation and the new 'open' audio box, the fans can choose...Mods, if there's any way you can set up a poll anyone can use, it would be much appreciated-I'll get John to put out an announcement of the address, and then the majority one will stay for the season-even if it works out 51-49... As for Sandstorm being coming out music-it may well have been Sheffield rather than Nottingham-I remember hearing it at one of the two, so if it is Steelers rather than Panthers I stand corrected...

That sounds like the best idea, we'll get a poll up straight after the Belfast game. P.S Welcome to the Jungle, this week maybe?

Have to agree a bit of G&R would be good in the Skydome. Anybody heard the rumours that the Racers entrance music this year is Duelling Banjos?
