Quoted as the most anticipated film of the year, the movie based on Dan Browns controversial novel was released today.
I bought the book a couple of weeks back but have yet to start it. I intend to see the film in the next couple of weeks.
Anybody else read the book or plan to see the film?
Any comments on either medium here.

I'm currently reading the book, which I have enjoyed so far. Went to see the movie today. Exellent film, one of the best i've seen so far this year. Some bits are a bit dragged out, but it's not boring or anything. Great performances from all the actors, Tom Hanks is perfect as Robert Langdon. Even without having read the book fully I understood the film, so if you haven't read the book don't let it put you off seeing this great film.

I was hoping to finish the book before I saw the film, but I knew I wasn't going to. Even though I've seen the film I'm still enjoying the book.

I am finding my mindset whilst reading the book to be portraying it as I would expect the film to be. Usually when I read I don't get incidental music ;D
A rare book indeed when the prologue is as gripping as it was

Found it very interesting that at Mass today, the Priest felt the need to comment on the Da Vinci Code - there were actually hand outs after Mass entitled 'A Theologian looks into the Da Vinci Code'!
Personally, I have always seen the book as just a novel and the painting as just a painting and find it very surprising that the Church is threatened by this enough to feel the need to defend itself. Could the Priest today really have been serious when he claimed that the feminine figure in Da Vinci's painting of 'The Last Supper' was in fact a portrayal of the disciple John!
Haven't seen the film yet, but I intend to.
Think I may now have to look into this a bit more.

I must admit that I feel the church has gone into overdrive with its protests. Apart from the odd letter of condemnation such previous films like the Last Temptation Of Christ and others didn't get the same sort of adverse publicity

Saw the film on Saturday, very impressed.
Tom Hanks is a superb actor and played his part very well, as did Robert Langdon!
A must see if you've not already..

Now seen it. Obviously the book is better but the film still knocks spots of many for a long time.
My only nag was that the character of Robert Langdon looked like Furby with that hair do ;D
