Yup you read that right. This Saturday Athens hosts the half centenary of the event that we all love to hate. That said the viewing figures across the continent are always sky high. Post absolutely anything remotely Eurovision on here, memories, grumbles, Wogans syrup ....whatever

It is that one by Daz Simpson who looks like a 45 year old trying to be Eminem The backing singers in schoolgirl uniforms might garner a few extra votes though

We're not going to win anyway, but there is a semi final of Eurovision nowadays Belgium have already being knocked out, and they were one of the favourites.

That's a surprise. I watched that Terry Wogan mickey take of past shows in the week and at the end he mentioned about the Belgian entry being highly fancied.

I should warn you that, having heard it already, the German entry is toe-curlingly, paint-stripper-drinkingly bad. It's Texas Lightning (some sort of faux-country line-dance act)...and after having three minutes of your life stolen by it you actually want to go out and drown the band's pet small animals, in a desperate attempt to make them suffer as much as you have through listening. And it's ALL OVER local radio...

The Finnish entry should raise a few eyebrows. Always watchable just to moan about foreigners "hating England" and always "voting for each other" ;D All you ever needed to know about it www.eurovision.tv

Go Finland...that is truly awesome. Slipknot go Eurovision! ;D ;D And yes, I've voted for Finland. As for the UK... Most songs reflect the country's culture and ours was no different.. All it needed was a stolen car and Vicky Pollard on stage... I bet Daz gets sponsored by Donnay. I'm embarassed to be English....

The Finnish entry should raise a few eyebrows. Talk about on the money!!! Hard Rock Hallelujah- the contest has certainly come a long way since Pearl Carr & Teddy Johnson warbling "Sing little birdie" ;D Maybe the rules should change to not being allowed to vote for a nation you share a border with to mix it up a bit
